I'm Joel Tangunan, a songwriter driven by a lifelong passion for turning life's stories, deepest emotions, and faith into music. Since the age of 15, songwriting has been my way of giving a voice to what the heart feels but words alone cannot fully express. I may not be the strongest singer, but I've always believed that a song's true power lies not in the voice behind it, but in the honesty of its lyrics, the beauty of its melody, and the emotions it leaves in the hearts of those who listen. Throughout my journey, I've been blessed with opportunities that strengthened my passion for songwriting. In 1996, my composition entered the Top 50 of the Metro Pop Songwriting Festival, advancing close to the final 12. In 2000, I was chosen as a judge for the Himig Handog sa Bayaning Pilipino Songwriting Contest, which received thousands of entries. In 2003, I contributed as one of the songwriters for an album by Anne Jomeo under Alpha Records. In 2014, my original song Your Never Fading Love became a weekly finalist in the A Song of Praise (ASOP) Music Festival. My musical style embraces slow pop, heartfelt love songs, easy listening, smooth jazz, and inspirational music. I may not be the best singer, but I believe that a song's beauty goes beyond the voice performing it. What matters most is the sincerity of its message, the emotion behind its melody, and the connection it creates with the listener. My greatest inspirations come from love, life's challenges, personal experiences, and my faith in the Most High. I write songs hoping that someone might find comfort in my lyrics, discover hope in a melody, or see their own story reflected in my music. My dream is to continue sharing songs that touch hearts and become part of people's memories. I may not have the strongest voice, but I have stories to tell, melodies to share, and a heart that still finds reasons to write. For me, songwriting is not just about being heard; it's about being felt.
