Ruther Reyes — a Filipino musician and hobbyist songwriter inspired by faith and a lifelong passion for making music, currently serving in his church’s music ministry.

Ruther Reyes is a Filipino musician and hobbyist songwriter whose musical journey began as a child, learning to play instruments with the encouragement and guidance of his parents. He started playing drums in church at a young age, which became his foundation as a musician. Over the years, he explored other instruments, played in a high school band, and continued making music in different settings, including office events and gatherings. Music has remained a lifelong passion, eventually bringing Ruther back to a stronger focus on serving through his church’s music ministry. His musical influences are diverse, with a particular appreciation for rock and alternative sounds. He enjoys learning, experimenting, and creating music without considering himself a professional songwriter—just a musician who occasionally has something he wants to put into a song. “Sayo Lamang” is one of those songs. Written as a personal expression of faith and devotion to God, it brings together Ruther’s love for music and a message that is deeply personal to him. For Ruther, songwriting is less about creating a perfect record and more about expressing something genuine. Through music, he hopes to continue learning, sharing, and using whatever gifts he has to give glory to God.
